Year 10 Work Experience
Each year we welcome a Year 10 work experience placement from Archbishop Holgate’s School in York
It’s a great opportunity for students to get a first-hand look at what a career in the electrical trade involves, from learning about day-to-day tasks on site to understanding the importance of teamwork, safety, and communication
We believe experiences like this can make a real difference in helping young people make informed decisions about their futures
It's always a pleasure to support the school and give students a practical introduction to the working world
Apprenticeships
We love being able to support the next generation of emerging talent and Isaac is one of our current apprentices, training through JTL.
Isaac has been with us since June 2023 and this year should be Isaac's last year of study as Isaac is preparing for his final exam with the aim to take it around June
Isaac works full time with us on a variety of jobs and outside of work he's pretty active too, with interests including mountain biking, hiking, watching live comedy, music and dance
Isaac is a key member of our team and contributes a lovely calmness, alongside a polite attitude and quirky knowledge and interests, plus an infectious smile!
In October 2025 we also took on Brady, training through York College and we'll keep you updated with his progress too!
York College Construction Skills Centre
We're really proud to champion the next generation of skilled tradespeople by supporting the talented students developing their craft at York College's Construction Skills Centre
It's great to see such strong practical training taking place locally and to play a part in helping young people build solid foundations for their future careers
Look closely and you'll see our 'bricks' in the wall!
Alongside this, we also get involved in one-off events at the college, from supporting with mock interviews to engaging with the Partnership Team about further opportunities to contribute
It's rewarding to be part of helping young people prepare for real world working environments and explore careers in the construction industry
York College Construction Awards
2026 marks the third year we've sponsored a York College Construction award
It’s always inspiring to hear about the dedication and hard work of the students, and we’re delighted to see their efforts formally recognised
Supporting emerging talent is something we’re genuinely passionate about. The construction industry depends on skilled, motivated individuals and it’s a privilege to play a small part in celebrating their achievements
We look forward to the awards ceremony in June 2026!

York RLFC Knights Sponsorship
We're proud to be sponsoring York RLFC Knights again in 2026, for the third year running. The Knights are a team with strong personal ties as Chris played for them back in the days when they were known as York Wasps!
It's been brilliant to watch the club grow and evolve over the years and their recent move to the Super League is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the talent and determination within the squad. A real boost for rugby league in York!
New Earswick All Blacks Club Member
We’re long time supporters of New Earswick All Blacks, a grassroots rugby league team that plays an important role in the local York community
Chris played for the team in his younger days, so it’s great to now give something back and stay connected to a club that’s helped shape so many local players
New Earswick Community Sports Gym
Chris is the current Chair for The Blue Slate Foundation, a charity which focuses on sport and boxing to help people with a variety of issues from mental health and addiction as well as generally supporting the community with getting fit and healthy!
The charity is currently working on building a new community gym in New Earswick, York and fundraising continues throughout 2026...
In March 26 the team involved will be holding a 'topping out ceremony' to celebrate the milestone of the roofing being finished!
