The socket fits to an outside the wall. The wiring enters the unit from the bottom. The cover forms a water tight cover.
The unit does not have an RCD.
The cover screws to the unit. To remove, or connect, a plug the cover has to be unscrewed.

The unit plugs into a standard socket, the electrical appliance plugs into the unit.
