· The PAT tester should be able to use the PAT test results to identify problems.

· The PAT tester should be able to use the results to predict problems before they happen.

 

· A person who can assess what PAT testing results mean:

· The PAT tester should be able to, for instance, identify any test failures that need immediate action.

 

· A person who has enough PAT testing training and knowledge to deal with any problems that PAT testing identifies:

PAT testing is not a ‘tick in the box’; PAT testing is done for a reason. A qualified electrician should do the PAT testing.

 

The Judge Electrical opinion is that PAT testing should be done by a qualified electrician. The electrician should have PAT testing training and be able to understand the results; the PAT tester should have enough knowledge and experience to deal with any problems that PAT testing reveals.
