What Problems Oxidised Contacts Cause

The oxidisation of electrical contacts can prevent electrical connection between a bulb and its electrical supply. Oxidisation of electrical contacts can cause lights not to light or flickering lights.

How To Fix Oxidised Contacts

To fix an oxidised electrical contact:

  • Turn the electrical supply to the light off.
  • Scrape the electrical contact with a screwdriver to remove the oxidisation; electrical contacts should be copper in colour.
